Basics – how to play

Art Inc. is a simple idle mobile game in which you control your own museum, display artifacts in your gallery, win new pieces at auctions, and improve your museum.

Game controls are simple in Art Inc. once you get the hang of it.

Most of the game takes place on the main screen, which is your museum.

In your museum, you can swipe between different sections.

Each section has a useful functionality, such as displaying artifacts, selling entrance tickets, or the gift shop.

Your job is to collect earnings from each section by tapping the coin icon over artifacts, your cashier in the gift shop, and the employee selling entrance tickets.

To add new artifacts to your gallery, press the picture frame icon in the bottom menu, select an empty slot and choose which artifact to display.

Artifacts earn you different amounts of cash per time.

Under the information about an artifact, you can see two numbers, a cash amount and time.

The number displayed next to the cash icon is how much cash the artifact can hold at once, and the time display how much time it takes for the artifact to earn the maximum amount of cash it can hold.

For example, an artifact, that can hold 180k cash, and has a cooldown of 1 hour, earns 50 cash per second.

To acquire new artifacts for your museum, you can either win new ones at auctions or send your caretakers on exploration missions whenever they are available.

To participate in an auction, press the wooden hammer icon in the bottom menu and select an auction.

You need to first choose the right artifact by swiping between a couple and matching the given image with the right artifact.

Then you have to outbid other participants by clicking bid.

Don’t worry about the price, as all artifacts earn themselves back very quickly.

That’s the basics of the game, be sure to upgrade your artifacts and museum to increase your earnings, and look out for opportunities presented to you by your caretakers on the left side of the screen.

Explore locations and complete missions

Whenever your caretakers offer to go explore a location for treasure and artifacts, send them exploring immediately.

Sending caretakers to explore costs very little gold, and can return artifacts worth hundreds of times more than what you pay for them to go.

Furthermore, if you aren’t lucky enough to get an artifact from their exploration, you will get other treasures such as gems, which are very valuable.

You can find all your caretakers’ proposals on the left side of the screen.

Also, on the left side of your screen, you will find your guide, a gentleman with a suit and mustache, who gives you missions to complete.

Complete these missions to earn great rewards that will help you progress through the game faster.

Most missions give you gems as a reward, which is the premium currency in Art Inc.

Therefore, completing missions is a great way to leverage the advantages of using gems as a free-to-play player.

Recruit caretakers

Caretakers significantly boost your artifacts when ordered to take care of them.

Each caretaker has a unique buff, such as increase how fast an artifact earns money.

To get new caretakers, tap the monkey icon with a police hat in the bottom menu and then press recruitment at the top.

Every three hours, you can claim a free caretaker.

After your free caretaker, you can get more by watching ads.

You can also purchase better caretakers by spending gems.

There are six different ranks of caretakers, each identified with a number of stars with 6-star being the highest rank.

You can only get caretakers that are between 1- and 4-star from the free claim and ads.

To get 4- to 6-star caretakers, you have to purchase the premium one for gems, where you are guaranteed at least a 4-star caretaker.

Art Inc how to hire caretakers location

Your first objective in Art Inc. should be to fill up your gallery as quickly as possible.

Putting artifacts in all your slots helps you maximize your earnings quickly so you can stack up on cash.

Whenever you get an artifact that is better than one that is already displayed in your museum, swap it out, it’s free of charge.

Some players might wonder what artifacts are best to display, ones with a long cooldown or those with a short?

Well, it depends. If you are actively playing the game at the moment, go ahead and display all your artifacts with the highest gold per time.

Artifacts with short cooldowns often have the highest gold per time, but can’t hold as much gold at maximum as those with long cooldowns.

However, if you are actively playing the game, you can collect the earnings from artifacts before they reach their maximum, thereby maximizing your total income.

If you know you can’t play for an extended period of time; maybe you have to sleep or go to class, display your long cooldown artifacts instead.

When you come back, they will be holding huge amounts of cash for you to collect.

Upgrade your museum

When you’ve filled up your gallery with artifacts and upgraded them a bit, it’s time to upgrade your museum.

At first, start by upgrading the entrance ticket price and cash earned from the gift shop.

You can also upgrade the amount of cash some customers carry, but we recommend prioritizing the previous two.

Later on, once you’ve stacked up on a lot of cash, buy more artifacts slots in your museum.

Each new slot you purchase is expensive, but that extra slot will earn itself back fairly quickly, depending on how early you purchase extra artifact slots.

To upgrade your museum, press the red arrow icon in the bottom menu and select the upgrade you wish to purchase.

If you go without spending gems, saving up for fountain boosts is a great investment, as having a steady source of gems is amazing later on.

Silverfox challenges

Missions are great for earning extra resources, but Silverfox challenges are where you’ll find the big rewards.

By completing challenges from Silver Fox, you earn tons of gems.

To complete his challenges, you have to collect three specific artifacts.

Press the book with a star icon at the top of the screen to track your progress in the Silverfox challenges.

You don’t have to complete the first tab to start on the second tab of artifacts, so if you find an artifact Silver Fox requests, get your hands on it immediately.

Once you’ve completed all Silver Fox’s challenges, you unlock Silver Fox himself as a caretaker.

You can then assign him to an artifact and send him on exploration missions.

Prepare for auctions and unlock new ones

You always want to prepare for auctions before attending them.

If you happen to run into an artifact that is very valuable or you need for a challenge, you need to be able to get your hands on it.

The only way to make sure you can win an auction is by having enough cash on hand.

The price of an artifact usually ends at around 20%-40% over the market value of the chosen auction.

For example, if you go to Gritty’s auction that has a market value of 100k, expect to pay around 120k-140k for the artifact.

We have, however, experienced paying more than 40% for an artifact.

Therefore, we recommend having around 1.6 times more cash on hand than the market value of the chosen auction to ensure victory.

Even if you have already filled up all slots in your museum, keep on buying new artifacts.

New auctions unlock when you collect a certain number of artifacts.

Furthermore, you need to unlock new auctions in order to obtain artifacts of greater value.

Make your museum look elegant

Now that you’ve built up your gallery, displayed expensive artifacts, and the cash is rolling in, it’s time to improve the look of your museum.

You are probably tired of those dull and worn-out walls, grey spotted carpet, and cardboard boxes lying all over the floor.

Luckily, you can swap all of that out, it will just cost a handful of cash, of course.

To purchase new decorations in Art Inc., press the tree icon in the bottom menu to open the decorations tab.

Inside the decorations tab, you will find a list of all decorations you can swap:

  • Cardboard box (stand)
  • Old Carpet
  • Worn Out Museum (walls and fountain)
  • Wooden Bench
  • Cardboard Boxes (decorations)

Keep an eye on all sources of cash

To maximize your earnings in Art Inc., be sure to keep an eye on every source of cash in your museum.

Scrolling through the sections of your museum and collecting cash from customers is a great way to stack up on some more money while your artifacts are charging up.

Also, check your cashier in the ticket booth and the gift shop often, as some players forget them as they focus on their artifacts.

Once you’ve upgraded both the ticket price and your gift shop, they can yield as much cash as an artifact.

You are now ready to take on the world of art and become a museum mogul in Art Inc.
