Throughout your adventures in Dragon Champions, you’ll be collecting a bunch of heroes, each with a unique playstyle and set of skills.
You can, however, only put five heroes on your team at once and need to upgrade them to make them strong enough to face tough opponents.
So, which heroes should you aim to spend resources on and put on your team?
This tier list gives you an overview of the best heroes in Dragon Champions, which can help you in deciding which heroes to aim for in the game.
In Dragon Champions, there are a select few heroes that will do well on any team.
These include Nightiel, Cruelle, Kin Li, Patriarch Qi, and Kaira.
If you manage to get any of these heroes, we recommend you put them on your team and upgrade them, as they’ll help you progress faster and are extremely powerful late-game.
There are, of course, also other amazing heroes in the game – find them with more details in our full tier list below.

Dragon Champions tier list
With almost 60 heroes in Dragon Champions, selecting five heroes to use in battle is no easy task.
Furthermore, resources are valuable, so you don’t want to waste too many of them on heroes that’ll be replaced quickly.
Because of this, we’ve created this tier list that ranks heroes in tiers based on their usability and power.
If a hero isn’t listed in our tier list, we either believe it isn’t worth your attention, or we don’t have enough information on it yet.
You can help us improve this tier list by leaving feedback and input in the comment section below.
Using our tier list is a great way to get an overview of what heroes are among the best in the game and, thereby, which you should keep and upgrade.
When creating the ultimate team, there are, however, other factors to consider as well than just the tier of a hero.
You can learn more about how to build a great team in our Dragon Champions team building guide.
Here is a quick rundown of all the tiers heroes can be assigned in our tier list.
S Tier – Heroes in the S tier are the best in the game. These heroes perform exceptionally well and should be used if you pull any.
A Tier – Heroes in the A tier perform well above the average hero. These heroes are very strong and will help you significantly throughout your journey.
B Tier – Heroes in the B tier perform as you’d expect. They aren’t particularly strong but aren’t weak by any means either. B-tier heroes can be a great addition to your team if you need a specific set of abilities, etc.
C Tier – Heroes in the C tier perform below average with little potential for late game. As you want to replace these heroes sooner rather than later, you shouldn’t upgrade them too much.
D Tier – Heroes in the D tier are the weakest and least useful in the game. We don’t recommend spending resources on these heroes as you want to replace them as soon as you get something better.

Best attacker heroes
As heroes become stronger throughout the game, it’s essential to have sufficient damage on your team.
You should always bring a couple of attacker heroes to battle, otherwise, you won’t be able to take down tanky enemies fast enough.
Attacker heroes’ primary purpose is dishing out as much damage as possible, which means they often lack in terms of tankiness and support.
We’ve found using three attacker heroes on your team usually does well.
Here are some of the best attacker heroes in the game.
Cruelle
Cruelle is a mage of the human race who belongs to the Order faction.
She possesses high damage stats and powerful abilities to match.
Cruelle’s abilities do not only deal significant damage but also bring utility.
Her first ability, Healing Darkness, heals Cruelle 50% of damage dealt if the enemy is a demon.
Create Reflection, another ability Cruelle possesses, creates a reflection of the target with 40% of their health and shields, and 75% speed.
Lastly, Cruelle buffs all allied defender heroes’ tenacity for one turn after Cruelle’s turn, if there are three defender heroes on the battlefield, including enemy defenders.
Cruelle is overall an incredibly powerful damage dealer, who also possesses great utility.
Nightiel
If you’re looking for pure damage, Nightiel is a hero to consider.
She is a mage of the Elf race who belongs to the Order faction.
Nightiel has one of the highest damage stats in the game, making her one of the best damage dealers in the game.
Most of her abilities deal damage with a small chance of inflicting a secondary effect, like Moon and Star, which deals damage and has a 30% chance to deal shield-piercing damage.
She can, however, also increase the damage of one ally for two turns by using her Midnight Glow ability.
Nightiel’s passive ability is Night Priestess, which has a 30% chance to remove a debuff from herself and Solius at the end of the turn.
Lastly, Nightiel can boost the accuracy of all allied elves by 3% through her leadership ability.
Best tank heroes
In order to keep your team alive, you need at least one strong tank to absorb damage from your squishy heroes.
Tanks often have abilities that improve the defense of the rest of the team, which is a useful bonus.
Tanks have defense, but often not as much damage as attackers.
Therefore, you shouldn’t bring too many tank heroes to battle – we’ve found just one to be sufficient.
Here are some of the best tank heroes in the game.
Kin Li
Kin Li is an amazing tank who is sure to make your team survive for longer if you bring him to battle.
He is a defender of the panda race who belongs to the Order faction.
Kin Li has amazing defensive stats, making him tough to take down.
Through his ability, Jade Wave, he has a 25% chance to increase the tenacity of an ally for one turn, which throughout battle increases your team’s survivability.
To complete the primary objectives of a tank – shielding incoming damage from damage dealers and supports, Kin Li’s ability, Five-on-One, taunts the enemy team for two turns upon use, forcing all enemies to target only him.
To help Kin Li survive for longer, his passive, Spiritual Recovery, recovers 2% of his health at the start of each his turns.
Lastly, his leadership ability, Lord of the Great Houses, gives all allied pandas 10% of their max health.
Kin Li is definitely a hero to consider if you’re looking for a tank for your team.
Tromgar
Another powerful tank in Dragon Champions is Tromgar.
He is a defender of the Orc race who belongs to the Clans faction.
Tromgar’s defensive stats are also very high, but not as high as Kin Li’s.
Tromgar does, however, pack more of a punch than Kin Li, as Tromgar’s damage output matches that of some great damage dealers.
Tromgar’s playstyle revolves around his defensive stance and his battle stance.
His passive ability, Veteran Tactician, increases his attack when in battle stance and his defense when he is in his defensive stance.
Tromgar can switch stance by using his ability Shield of the People.
Tromgar has some regeneration through his Second Wind ability and can increase the Potency and Tenacity of allied orcs through his leadership ability, Supreme Khagan.
If you need a tank on your team that can also deal a significant amount of damage, then Tromgar is a great pick.
Best support heroes
A type of hero that is often overlooked by players is the support hero.
These heroes deal less damage than attackers and are much less tanky than tanks, which is why some people ignore them.
Support heroes can, however, greatly improve your entire team and thereby add more value to your team than had you just added another attacker or tank.
Support heroes’ primary purpose is to support your team by either healing, buffing, or applying crowd control to the enemy.
Here are some of the best support heroes in the game.
Patriarch Qi
Patriarch Qi is a healer of the panda race who belongs to the Order faction.
He doesn’t possess much damage but does have quite a few useful abilities for your team.
His ability, Fortitude, gives an ally a shield equal to 180% of Patriarch Qi’s magic damage.
Another way he increases the survivability of his team is by increasing one ally’s defense for two turns through his ability, Meditation.
Because of Patriarch Qi’s passive, Crane Technique, he has a 20% chance to heal an ally 10% of the shield value, when applying a shield.
Lastly, Patriarch Qi can make all ally healing abilities apply a shield to the respective target equal to 20% of the healing amount through his leadership ability, Sensei.
Additionally, all allies of the Order faction, restore their shield equal to 2% of damage dealt.
Patriarch Qi is a hero to consider if you’re struggling to keep your team alive, as he can greatly improve your team’s survivability.
Xantara
Xantara is a healer of the demon race who belongs to the Order faction.
Contrary to Patriarch Qi, Xantara focuses mainly on healing rather than shielding.
Her first ability, Hell’s Whip, deals damage and heals the ally with the lowest health 50% of damage dealt.
Her second ability, Sacrifice, allows Xantara to sacrifice 25% of her own health to heal all allies by 200% of her magic damage, which is a significant amount.
Xantara can also heal herself through her ability, Kiss of Death, which deals damage and heals her the amount of damage dealt.
Lastly, Xantara has a 30% chance to restore a turn to a random ability at the start of her turn because of her passive ability, Demonic Metabolism.
Xantara is, all in all, an amazing support with tons of healing for your team.
Note that all percentages and values mentioned in relation to the abilities above are their base values.
As you level up abilities, these values will grow, and many abilities gain additional effects.
