Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord is a very complex game with a lot of moving parts, hidden in the code made by the developers.
However, with the help of the cheat console (also named by the devs the “command line console”), you can change many things in Bannerlord that otherwise would have been impossible.

Skip all diplomacy and talk that goes into marrying someone, and just write a simple command to get it done in an instant. Do you also want to change a policy in your kingdom? Trigger an election and do it with a quick command in the console.
Unfortunately, you first need to learn how to open Bannerlord’s cheat console before using it, so here is exactly how you can start that bad boy up.

Open Console in Bannerlord
To open Bannerlord’s console, all you need to do is press two buttons at the same time: “Alt” + ” ~”.
Once that is done, you will see the command line console show up on your screen, as you can see in the picture above, and you can start using any commands you want.
By using the cheat console, you will just change values in the game’s files for your specific save file, so don’t worry since you can’t destroy the game.
To make sure the commands work, make sure to also enable cheats using the console now that you opened it.
That’s everything you need to know about how to open the cheat (command line) console in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord!
