How to Get Leather Strips in Project Zomboid

In Project Zomboid, leather strips are craftable materials, meaning you can’t get them from foraging or looting.

That said, the only way to get leather strips in Project Zomboid is to tear off leather clothing.

There are many pieces of clothing made of leather material in Project Zomboid, such as leather jackets, skinny leather trousers, and leather gloves. These things can be found by looting zombie corpses or obtained in warehouses or wardrobes.

Next, you need scissors, which can be found in lockers, desks, or drawers, to rip leather clothes.

Once you have the clothes and scissors, right-click on any leather clothing and select “Rip Clothing” to get leather strips.

The amount of leather strips you receive is random and can range from 2 to 8. It doesn’t depend on the type of clothing (such as trousers, jackets, or gloves) you tear apart or your tailoring level.

Besides, you may get 1-2 dirty leather strips after ripping. These rewards are useless unless you clean them.

To clean dirty leather strips, make sure you have water in your inventory, then right-click on them and select “Clean Leather Strips” => “One/All”. With one water unit, you can clean one dirty leather strip.

Moreover, you can use water from any water source to clean the dirty leather strips. Simply right-click on the water source (for example, a sink) and select “Clean Leather Strips”.

That’s how to get leather strips in Project Zomboid.
