Where to Catch Red Snapper in Stardew Valley

Before we get started, you need to know that you can only catch the Red Snapper while it is rainy.

The only way you can catch one while it isn’t raining is to use Magic Bait, which allows you to catch fish regardless of season, weather, and time of day.

There are two locations in Stardew Valley where you can catch the Red Snapper:

  • The Beach
  • Beach Farm

If you chose the Beach Farm at the start of the game, then you are very likely to catch the Red Snapper on your farm, in the ocean. Otherwise, you can always catch this fish at the Beach.

You can generally catch the Red Snapper in Stardew Valley during the Summer and the Fall. You can also try to catch it during the Winter if you use a Rain Totem.

The Red Snapper is a day fish and can only be caught between 6 AM and 7 PM. This is a really long timespan which should allow you to easily catch it.

Since the Red Snapper is not a high-level fish, you don’t even have to aim for the deeper parts of the ocean. You can generally catch it at medium distances.

Other Ways to Get a Red Snapper

There aren’t really any other better ways to get the Red Snapper, but here is the other way you can get this fish:

  • Buy it from Traveling Cart

You can also buy a Red Snapper from the Traveling Cart in Cindersap Forest, but the price is usually absurd, and it is random what stock she has. The price of a Red Snapper at the Traveling Cart ranges from 150 to 1k g.

However, we don’t recommend you buy the Red Snapper from the Traveling Merchant, as it would be a huge waste of time.

You don’t really need it for any Bundles or special missions, so you will have to fight through the fishing minigame and catch this small fish.

That’s everything you need to know about where to catch Red Snapper in Stardew Valley!
