How to Extract a Weapon Pattern in Destiny 2

If you happen to find a weapon with Deepsight Resonance, there are two ways you can extract its pattern.

The first is by hovering over the Deepsight Resonance Weapon Mod and Extracting the pattern.

This will consume the Resonance and leave your weapon intact while giving you Weapon Pattern Progress. You will want to do this in most cases.

The second is by dismantling the weapon. This will destroy it and give you Weapon Pattern Progress.

You will only want to extract the pattern this way if you don’t plan on using the weapon, as you won’t be able to get it back.

Deepsight Harmonizer

Deepsight Harmonizers are a rare item that you can use to speed up Weapon Pattern Progression.

If you have a weapon that can be crafted, but it doesn’t have Deepsoght Resonance, then you can use a Deepsight Harmonizer to add Resonance to it.

It will now be treated like a red-border weapon, and you can extract the pattern as you normally would.

Keep in mind that you can only extract Weapon Pattern Progress from a single weapon instance once.

You won’t be able to use multiple Deepsight Harmonizers on the same gun. You will need multiple copies if you want to eventually unlock that weapon’s pattern.

How to Get Weapon Patterns in Destiny 2

In order to craft your favorite weapon, you will need to find some weapon patterns for it.

It takes five weapon patterns to fully unlock a weapon for crafting, with some exceptions.

Most craftable weapons have some way of farming them, giving you a chance at getting a red-border version that contains Deepsight Resonance with every drop, while some can only be purchased once a week from certain vendors.

Others are just a world drop that you will need some luck to get.

Raids

The easiest way to get red-border weapons is by doing Raids, specifically the Featured Raid of the week.

Most Raids will have a certain encounter that is very easy to farm, meaning you can get a Fireteam together to clear the encounter within minutes and get a chance at a red-border Raid weapon.

Many of the newer Raids also have Secret Chests that have a guaranteed red-border drop.

Seasonal Activities

Every Season in Destiny 2 will have a new Seasonal Activity with new Seasonal loot. This activity will always have a chance of dropping red-border weapons, along with Secret Chests having guaranteed red-border drops.

These Seasonal activities are often tied to a vendor, where you can turn in your Engrams for a chance at red-border weapons.

Currently, Savathun’s Spire and Altars of Summoning are our Seasonal Activities. Complete some runs, head to the Ritual Table in the H.E.L.M., and see if you get lucky!

That’s how you extract a weapon pattern in Destiny 2!
