Slayer is one of the most iconic skills in Old School RuneScape, where players are assigned to kill a certain number of monsters for Slayer experience. As it is packed with PvM content, this skill is a cornerstone to Old School RuneScape as it forces players to square off against the toughest foes.

But what if a Slayer task is too tough for you to take on? Or maybe you’d rather not spend another 200k on cannonballs to kill Trolls and want to take a chance at a different task?

In this article, I am going to talk about how you can skip your Slayer task, as well as describe a way to do so without spending any of your Slayer points!

To skip a Slayer Task in Old School RuneScape, you can either spend 30 Slayer Points at any of the Slayer Masters to skip your current task or talk to Turael in Burthrope, who can both cancel and reassign you a new Slayer Task without having to spend any Slayer Points.

How to Skip Slayer Tasks in OSRS

Slayer Tasks are assignments by Slayer Masters that task a player to kill a specified creature. Of course, the creature will vary depending on your combat level and which Slayer Master you talk to.

However, once you do Slayer long enough, you will start to learn which tasks to avoid and which ones to strive for.

That being said, there are two different ways that you can skip your current Slayer Task if you desire to.

Spending Slayer Points at a Slayer Master

When you view the available rewards from any Slayer Master, there will be a section solely for tasks.

The first option in the shop allows you to spend 30 Slayer Points to skip your current task. There is no limit to how many times you can do this, so as long as you have the points for it, you can keep skipping until you get the task you want.

Alternatively, if you really want to avoid a task, you can spend 100 Slayer Points to block your current task altogether.

The number of tasks you can block depends on the number of Quest Points you have and if you have completed the Elite Tier Lumbridge & Draynor Achievement Diary (maximum of 7).

Talking to Turael in Burthrope

Turael is a low-level Slayer Master who resides in Burthrope.

Not only does he give out low-level Slayer assignments, but he can allow a player to skip their current task and be reassigned a Slayer Task from him.

Please note that this will end your current Slayer streak, so if you are trying to maximize points from a certain Slayer Master, I would advise against talking to him.

A lesser-known fact about Turael is that he can only cancel assignments to monsters that aren’t assigned to him.

Therefore, you might be out of luck if you received a task from another low-level Slayer Master, as most of them share the same monster task list.

But if you are not worried about points and your current assignment is for a monster that Turael does not cover, talking to him is the easiest way to get rid of a task without having to spend points.

Then, all you have to do is complete the new assignment (which is normally far easier than any of the other masters) and go back to your original Slayer Master.

That is how to skip Slayer Tasks in Old School RuneScape!
