To heal yourself in DST, you have to keep track of other attributes like hunger, sanity, and temperature. Eating healing food, using healing items, wearing a Life Giving Amulet, and sleeping are 4 ways to heal yourself in Don’t Starve Together.

How to Heal Yourself in Don’t Starve Together

The first thing to note about health in DST is health doesn’t drain over time like other attributes. But if you do anything wrong, it will be massively decreased. So be careful!

Each character in Don’t Starve Together has a different health bar with different maximum health. No matter which method you use to heal, your current health can’t exceed the maximum amount. That’s why you shouldn’t waste your food to overheal yourself.

With the information about max health, let’s see 4 ways to heal yourself in Don’t Starve Together!

  1. Eat healing food

Food in Don’t Starve Together is divided into 2 main categories: raw and cooked. Plus, not all food can heal you, but it can damage your character if consumed wrong.

For example, monster meat will always deal damage to your character, whether it’s cooked or not. In contrast, the Koalefant Trunk will always heal you. Other food like berries will not heal you in a normal state but can heal you when it’s cooked.

Here’s a table of food that can heal you in Don’t Starve Together! Since there is a lot of food that can heal you, we only list the ones that give the best result with as least materials required as possible.

Depending on your play style, you may find some healing food that is easier to get than others. But in general, pierogi, trail mix, jerky, and butterfly wings are the easiest healing food to obtain.

If you play Wormwood, you can’t use the above food for healing. Instead, you can use manures or sleep in a tent to heal yourself.

In addition, WX-78 can also use gears to quickly heal 60 health points. But be mindful since gears are expensive materials in Don’t Starve Together.

  1. Use healing items

If healing food is luxurious to you, we have some other options that you can use to heal yourself in Don’t Starve Together.

You can use Spider Gland dropped from spiders or Mosquito Sack dropped from mosquitoes to heal 8 HP. If you know how to farm spiders, this will be your primary way to heal!

Moreover, you can use the spider gland above and combine it with 1 Rock and 2 Ashes to craft a Healing Salve. This item will restore 20 HP for a few more materials.

  1. Wear amulet

A Life Giving Amulet is the only item in Don’t Starve Together that can heal your character.

While being equipped on the amulet slot, it will restore 5 HP every 30 seconds in exchange for 5 hunger points and 5% durability. In total, a single amulet can restore up to 100 HP.

You can find the amulet by digging graves with a 3.07% chance. Or you can craft it using the Prestihatitator, 3 Gold Nuggets, 2 Nightmare Fuel, and 1 Red Gem.

  1. Sleeping

The final way to heal yourself in DST is to sleep. Tent and Siesta Lean-to can restore up to 120 health per minute or 2 HP per second.

If you haven’t settled on a base yet, you can craft a Fur Roll using 1 Straw Roll and 2 Bunny Puffs. A Fur Roll has half the effect compared to the Tent and Siesta Lean-to.

To craft a Tent, you need 6 Silk, 4 Twigs, and 3 Ropes. If you lack Silk, you can make a Siesta Lean-to instead for only 2 Silk, 3 Ropes, and 4 Boards.

Since you can’t always sleep or have an amulet in your inventory, it’s best to cook some healing food and prepare the healing items along the way.
