You get a star rating for each stage in both the Campaign and Faction Wars, and you can keep doing the same stage over and over until you get the rating you want.

It’s a great idea to aim for or at least go back later to obtain three stars from each stage, as you can claim useful rewards based on the total number of stars you’ve collected from all stages.

What is the star rating system in RAID: Shadow Legends

When completing stages in either the Campaign or in Faction Wars in RAID: Shadow Legends, you’ll get a rating between one and three stages.

Acquiring a star rating you haven’t hit before gives you the extra star as a currency you can use to claim rewards.

For example, if you complete a stage you haven’t completed before and get a rating of two stars, you get two stars towards your total star counter.

If you redo a stage you’ve already completed and gotten a rating of two stars from, but this time get a rating of three stars, you’ll get the extra star you hadn’t gotten before towards your total star counter.

The rewards you can claim by collecting stars are very useful for progressing, as these include gems, shards, books, and energy.

You can see both how many stars you have in total as well as the rewards you unlock at a certain number of stars collected at the bottom of the stage selection screen.

The Campaign and Faction Wars, the two game modes where stages give you a star rating, have separate star reward systems, which means you have a total number of stars collected for Campaign and for Faction Wars separately.

Furthermore, stars are specific to the difficulty you play, so you’ll have a separate star system for the normal mode campaign, hard mode campaign, and so on.

How to get 3 stars from stages

The requirements to get three stars from a stage differs depending on the chosen game mode.

In the Campaign, you get three stars from a stage if you complete it with a team consisting of only two or fewer champions, and none of them were defeated during that stage.

In Faction Wars, you get three stars from a stage if you complete it with a team consisting of five champions, and none of them are defeated during that stage.

When you are first progressing through the Campaign, we don’t recommend you aim for 3 stars if you can barely beat the stage.

Rather, you should just use a full team of champions, and when you’ve grown stronger, come back and earn the three stars.

Tips to get three stars

As the rewards you can claim from collecting stars are quite useful, it’s worthwhile to spend some time trying to get more stars from earlier stages where you didn’t get all three.

In Faction Wars, it’s quite simple to increase your chances of getting three stars from a stage.

First, you want to get five champions of the faction corresponding to the stage, and then you want to grow those champions stronger.

In later stages in Faction Wars, when you have several champions of the same faction, you want to start considering the team composition to increase your odds of no champions being defeated in battle.

If you don’t have five champions of the faction corresponding to the stage you are challenging, check out our guide on how to get more champions in RAID: Shadow Legends.

It can be a bit more difficult to get three stars in stages in the Campaign, especially later on in the game.

As you can only bring two champions if you want to get three stars from a stage in the Campaign, you have to rely on the two champions being powerful themselves rather than the team together.

Because of this, you want to bring champions that are great at dealing a lot of damage to many enemies, and also preferably someone who isn’t too easily defeated.

For most players, the best option for a while will be to bring Kael and then the second strongest champion that they have.

If you didn’t pick Kael as your starter, your best choice will most likely be the starter champion you’ve picked and then the second strongest champion that you have.

Rewards from collecting stars

On the Campaign and Faction Wars selection screens, you can see the number of stars you’ve collected in that game mode at the bottom.

At the bottom, you can also see how many stars in total you need to collect to unlock the next star reward.

Unlocking rewards is the main reason why you want to collect stars, and they’re definitely worth unlocking.

The rewards from the Faction Wars stars reward system include energy, tomes, shards, and chickens, all of which are incredibly useful items in the game.

In the Campaign, star rewards include gems, silver, and shards.

The more stars you collect, the better the rewards become, but the harder it also becomes to get more stars.

That’s how to get three stars in stages in RAID: Shadow Legends!
