What is the defense mode?

The defense mode in Anime Fighters Simulator is a series of waves of enemies that you have to defeat to protect a star.

Defense mode consists of a total of 10 waves, each one featuring more or stronger enemies than the last.

If you fail to defend the star in the middle by it losing all its health, you fail the defense mode.

Likewise, if you defeat all waves without the star being destroyed, you win.

Defense mode is only located in some worlds in the game.

Currently, you can access defense mode in the following worlds:

  • Crazy Town
  • Walled City
  • Cursed High
  • Lucky Kingdom
  • Divine Colosseum

The later the world in which you access defense mode, the stronger the enemies will be.

However, as the number of multi-open tokens that you get depends on how much damage you do to an enemy before it’s defeated, you can earn many more multi-open tokens in defense mode in later worlds.

Though many players would like to do defense mode alone, you cannot control how many players join your defense mode.

Upon you starting the defense mode in a world, the entire server will get a message that you started it, and they can join it for free till the first wave begins.

How to do defense mode

To do the defense mode in Anime Fighters Simulator, you need to have a defense mode token and use it at a defense mode entrance or join when another player starts the defense mode.

You can find a defense mode entrance in Crazy Town, Walled City, Cursed High, Lucky Kingdom, and Divine Colosseum.

The defense mode entrance is located near spawn and is a round structure with a floating sphere above it.

To start the defense mode, walk up to the entrance and press ‘Yes’. Once you start a defense mode, anyone on the server can join if they make it to the entrance before the first wave begins.

Upon starting a defense mode, everyone on your server will be notified that you started it and in which world you started it.

Likewise, you can also see when someone else starts the defense mode in a world, and you can join theirs if you go to its entrance before the first wave starts.

When the defense mode’s first wave begins, a series of enemies will walk towards the star in the middle that you have to protect. Your job is to defeat enemies before they reach the star.

There is a total of ten waves to defend against, and if you can’t protect the star’s health before you defeat all ten waves, you fail.

The reason why you want to do the defense mode in Anime Fighters Simulator is to obtain multi-open tokens that you can use to do max opens at stars. Learn more about how to get multi-open tokens here.

The number of multi-open tokens that you get from defense mode does not depend on whether or not you complete all ten waves. Enemies simply drop them upon being defeated.

What determines how many multi-open tokens will be dropped for you is the amount of damage you deal to enemies and what world you do defense mode. Later worlds give more multi-open tokens per health.

As the number of multi-open tokens that you get depends on how much damage you deal to an enemy before it’s defeated, you could end up getting very little tokens if someone much stronger joins your defense mode at instantly defeats enemies.

To combat this issue, you might want to consider using a private server. You can check our list of private servers for Anime Fighters Simulator here.

How to get defense mode tokens

You can get defense mode tokens in Anime Fighters Simulator by purchasing them for 500 time trial shards in the time trials shop.

You need just one defense mode token, also known simply as a defense token, to start the defense mode in any world.

Other ways to get defense tokens in the game include the daily wheel and promo codes.

As you progress through the game and start getting characters with collector III, you can farm time trial shards much faster, which means that you can quickly obtain defense tokens from the time trials shop.

If you’ve yet to progress far into the game, we recommend not using any defense tokens that you might have obtained from codes, as you’ll get far more multi-open tokens from them by spending them in later worlds like Cursed High.

Look out for other players starting the defense mode if you wish to obtain multi-open tokens early on in the game.

Defense mode rewards

The reward that you get from the defense mode in Anime Fighters Simulator is multi-open tokens.

You get multi-open tokens from defeating enemies and not based on how well you’ve performed in protecting the star.

In other words, your total reward from doing the defense mode is the drops that you accumulate throughout the ten waves.

The more damage you deal to an enemy in defense mode, the more multi-open tokens they’ll drop.

The later the world in which you’re doing defense mode, the more health enemies have, and the more multi-open tokens per damage dealt they give.

Boosts and upgrades that increase your Yen multiplier in the game, how much Yen you get from enemies, also affect how many multi-open tokens you get from defense mode enemies.
