Destruction Stone Fragments and Guardian Stone Fragments are the two honing materials that you need to upgrade tier 1 items in Lost Ark, besides Harmony Shards and Leapstones.

You need Destruction Stone Fragments to hone your weapon and Guardian Stone Fragments to upgrade your equipment.

As you need to hone all of your items a ton of times to increase your item level, you’re going to need a ton of both Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments.

The main way to get both Destruction Stone Fragments and Guardian Stone Fragments in Lost Ark is by completing tier 1 Chaos Dungeons. The higher the level of the tier 1 Chaos Dungeon, the more Stone Fragments you can expect to get.

There are many other ways to get Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments in the game as well, including the Auction House, Item Dismantling, Pirate Coins exchange, Raids, and World Bosses – get all of the different ways below.

How to get Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments in Lost Ark

When you start honing your gear in Lost Ark to increase your item level, you’ll quickly realize just how important Destruction Stone Fragments and Guardian Stone Fragments are.

You need both of them to upgrade your tier 1 equipment and weapon, which is the first gear set that you can upgrade.

You will get most of your Destruction Stone Fragments and Guardian Stone Fragments in Lost Ark by doing tier 1 Chaos Dungeons.

The fastest way to get a lot of Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments if you need a bunch now is to do Island Quests. These can only be completed once, however, and then you have to acquire them from other sources.

Luckily, there are a ton of other ways to get the honing material.

Here are all the different ways to get Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments in Lost Ark:

If you’re looking to farm enough Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments to upgrade your tier 1 equipment to unlock new milestones, you have to utilize many of the sources above, not just one. Except for the Auction House, if you have enough gold. Then you can just buy as many as you need.

Most of the methods above are limited either daily, weekly, or can only be completed once. Therefore, you should expect to do many of them.

Chaos Dungeons are a great source of Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments. All of the enemies inside can drop both, and they give a lot from just one run.

Only tier 1 Chaos Dungeons give Destruction Stone Fragments and Guardian Stone Fragments, as higher tier Chaos Dungeons give higher tier honing material.

Guardian Raids give both Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments as a reward for completing the raid. Learn more about them in our Guardian Raids Guide.

A lot of items can be sold on the Auction House, including Guardian Stone Fragments and Destruction Stone Fragments.

This means that you, in theory, could purchase all the Stone Fragments you need instantly, but you would have to have enough gold. Check out our Auction House Guide for info on how to use it.

Dismantling gear and accessories that are tier 1 gives various honing materials needed to hone tier 1 gear, including Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments.

You’ll get a lot of tier 1 gear and accessories from various sources like Chaos Dungeon, Raids, and World Bosses. Learn how to dismantle gear and accessories here.

Island Quests are the quests that you find on the smaller islands all over the sea of Lost Ark.

Islands that are tier 1, which means they have an item level requirement of 250, give both Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments as rewards for completing their quests.

You can also get more of both materials by claiming rewards from the Welcome Challenge menu under Collectibles.

World Bosses that are level 50 and have an item level requirement can give Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments as a reward.

You can exchange 170 Pirate Coins for 10 Destruction Stone Fragments and 30 Pirate Coins for 10 Guardian Stone Fragments. They have a weekly limit of 30 and 90, respectively.

Some of the quests you can complete after going through the main story in Vern Castle give both Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments as a reward. Not all do, however.

The Chaos Gate and Chaos Dungeon exchange NPC, which is located in every major town, allows you to exchange shards from Chaos Gate and Chaos Dungeons to honing material, including Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments.

For 45 Perception Shards, you can purchase 10 Destruction Stone Fragments with a weekly limit of 25, and for 15 Perception Shards, you can purchase 10 Guardian Stone Fragments with a weekly limit of 75.

Many events in Lost Ark, including login rewards, offer Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments as a reward.

Events don’t last forever, and new ones are added from time to time, so check out what events are running as you read this as chances are you can get honing materials from them.

Mari’s Secret Shop, which is located inside the Store, sells various useful items in exchange for Crystals.

Destruction Stone Fragments and Guardian Stone Fragments are often among the items that she offers. Her shop refreshes every couple of hours, though, so check back in later if she doesn’t sell any right now.

Welcome Challenges, which can be accessed through the icon in the top-right corner next to the minimap, offers many objectives to complete in exchange for rewards.

Some of the objectives that you can complete in the Welcome Challenges menu give both Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments as a reward. You’ll mostly find them as a reward from challenges in the Gear Upgrade tab.

The Sylmael Bloodstone exchange, which you’ll also find in every major city, sells both Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments in exchange for Sylmael Bloodstones, which you get from guild activities.

There are different offers of Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments in the Sylmael Bloodstone exchange, which depend on your guild shop level.

Ghost Ship offers many great rewards for completion, two of which are Destruction and Guardian Stone Fragments.

Only the tier 1 version of Ghost Ship gives these, as the higher tier ones give honing material of higher tiers.
