As you level up any ship in Lost Ark, you start needing more and rarer resources to keep upgrading it.
Two of the materials that you’ll start needing to upgrade ships are Basic Timber and Uncommon Timber, an Uncommon and a Rare resource.

Even though Basic Timber and Uncommon Timber both have Timber in their name, you cannot obtain them from Logging like you can with regular Timber.
You can obtain Basic Timber and Uncommon Timber in Lost Ark by purchasing them from the Traveling Merchant Ship, Tea and Libra Guild Vessel, with Pirate Coins, or from Trade Merchants in your Stronghold.
The easiest way to get Basic Timber and Uncommon Timber is by purchasing them from the Tea and Libra Guild Vessel using Pirate Coins.

How to get Basic and Uncommon Timber in Lost Ark
Basic Timber and Uncommon Timber are special resources that you need to upgrade ships of higher levels in Lost Ark.
They cannot be obtained from Logging like regular Timber can. You need to purchase them to obtain them.
There are two ways to get Basic Timber and Uncommon Timber in Lost Ark. By purchasing them with Pirate Coins from the Tea and Libra Guild Vessel or from Trade Merchants in your Stronghold.
The fastest and easiest way to obtain both Basic and Uncommon Timber in the game is by purchasing them from the Tea and Libra Guild Vessel.
The Traveling Merchant Ship Tea and Libra Guild Vessel is a ship that is always present next to ports.
You can access it by setting sail, sailing up next to it, and interacting with it by pressing ‘G’ on your keyboard or left-clicking it with your mouse.
The Tea and Libra Guild Vessel sells various resources needed to upgrade ships in exchange for Pirate Coins, including both Basic and Uncommon Timber.
Basic Timber costs 250 Pirate Coins, and Uncommon Timber costs 375 Pirate Coins.
Some of the Trade Merchants that appear in your Stronghold have a chance to be selling Basic Timber or Uncommon Timber in exchange for seals.
You obtain seals by completing dispatch missions in your Stronghold.
Not all Trade Merchants that appear in your Stronghold can have Basic Timber or Uncommon Timber for sale, and those that can not always do.
Furthermore, you need to research Trade Merchant contracts to unlock all the Trade Merchants that have a chance to sell either.
Some of the Trade Merchants that have a chance to be selling Basic Timber include Duekhyeon and Illayne, and one of the Trade Merchants that have a chance to be selling Uncommon Timber is Maxelle.
If you do get a Trade Merchant that sells either, it can be a great way to spend your seals if you’re looking to upgrade your ship or ships.
Trade Merchants are located to the right of the exchange NPCs in your Stronghold, which are located on the left side of the main Stronghold island.
