How to Get Museum Kudos in OSRS

You need to obtain Museum Kudos to access different parts of the game, including the Fossil Island.

These are the different ways to obtain Museum Kudos in OSRS:

  • Natural History Quiz
  • Cleaning Dig Site Objects
  • Completing Quests
  • Assembling Fossils in Display Cases

Natural History Quiz

To start the natural history quiz, you will need to talk to Orlando Smith. He can be located in the basement section of the Varrock Museum.

Once the quiz has started, head to any of the rooms located north, east, south, or west. Once you’re in your room of choice, click on the plaque in front of the display to get the question.

For each question you answer, you’ll get 2 kudos, totaling 28 kudos upon completing the quiz.

Note: Once all the questions are completed, you can talk to Orlando Smith again to get 1,000 experience for both Hunter and Slayer.

Cleaning Dig Site Objects

Players can clean Uncleaned Find rocks at the Varrock Museum for kudos. You must first complete The Dig Site quest to clean Uncleaned Find rocks.

To clean Uncleaned Find rocks, head to the south, fenced-off location at the entrance of the Varrock Museum.

You’ll need to be wearing leather gloves and leather boots, as well as having a trowel, a rock pick, and a specimen brush in your inventory. Those items can be found hanging on the south wall of the location.

Once you have those items, you can pick up an Uncleaned Find by clicking on the Dig Site specimen rocks. Use the newly obtained Uncleaned Find on the specimen table to clean it.

Once you clean an Uncleaned Find, it’ll turn into an item.

Most of the items are just random garbage, but the items you should be looking for are as follows:

  • Ancient symbol
  • Ancient coin
  • Old symbol
  • Old coin
  • Pottery

Once you uncover any of the previously listed artifacts, you won’t be able to find them again.

Placing each uncovered artifact in its designated display case (located at the entrance of the Varrock Museum) will give you 10 kudos, totaling 50 kudos upon completing all the artifacts.

Completing Quests

There are a total of 14 different quests that give you Kudos. The quests are as follows:

  • Demon Slayer
  • Rune Mysteries
  • Shield of Arrav
  • The Grand Tree
  • Hazeel Cult
  • In Aid of the Myreque
  • Making History
  • Merlin’s Crystal
  • Observatory Quest
  • Priest in Peril
  • A Tail of Two Cats
  • Temple of Ikov
  • What Lies Below

All the previously listed quests will give you 5 kudos upon completion. The last quest, Course of the Empty Lord, gives you 10 kudos.

Talk to Historian Minas to cash in your kudos after completing a quest. Historian Minas can be found on the second floor of Varrock Museum.

Assembling Fossils in Display Cases

Before you can put your fossils on display, you must first clean them. You can clean your unidentified fossils by building a cleaning bench near the Museum Camp on Fossil Island.

To build a bench, you must have 5 planks, 5 nails, a hammer, and a saw in your inventory.

Before you can start cleaning your unidentified fossils, you must also be wearing leather gloves and leather boots and have a trowel, a rock pick, and a specimen brush in your inventory.

Once you’re ready, simply just use your unidentified fossils on the cleaning bench to turn them into fossils. Once you’re done, you can put your newly acquired fossils in the fossil storage, which is located near the Museum Camp.

The fossil storage acts as a bank for your fossils. Depositing your fossils in one storage will allow you to withdraw said fossils from any fossil storage.

Once you’ve cleaned all your fossils and are ready to put them on display, head on over to the Varrock Museum, which is located north of the Varrock east bank.

Once you’re at the Varrock Museum, head down two flights of stairs to which you’ll find the fossil display cases and fossil storage. Click on the fossil storage and take out which fossils you want to display.

You can only use one size for the fossil displays; if you’re building a small fossil display, then you can only use small fossils.

Head on over to the display area and click on the display case until either you run out of fossils or you finish the fossil statue. Each fossil display takes five fossils from your inventory and gives you two kudos.

Completing all the fossil display cases will give you a total of 72 kudos.

Those are all the ways you can get museum kudos in Old School RuneScape!
